Good collections. Dont see them release top 10 for 2018. But they have one for 2016, https://blogs.mentor.com/embedded/blog/2017/01/03/top-10-embedded-systems-design-blogs-in-2016/
Btw, mentor does firmware?

I am not familiar with Arsuino. But I assume gregor1 means rtos can be supported in other dev frameworks. Otherwise it is a big hurdle for its use in many scenarios and even for edu purpose. Just not sure what rtos are already ported to Arduino?

It is a long shot. ARM doesn’t have a single product line. Instead it has offerings for different markets and apps, low pwr or high performance. But it is worth a try. ARM licensing and royalty fee is a big burden at least for price sensitive market such as iot. Something free is good but…[Read more]

Good article and very practical and useful design. Sure I can apply this in my next design.

Interesting. Assume writing data into one sdram and reading data out of the other sdram occur in parallel. Shall we use split bus matrix to improve throughput?

Hi
I want to draw some digital circuit diagrams which include something like and/or gates, mux, flip-flops, etc. I am using powerpoint now but I have to draw D-FF myself. Wondering what tool you guys use to draw digital circuit diagram.

why #risc-v ISA is popular?
Risc-v ISA is open source. #ISA only defines software hardware interface and does not define how ISA is implemented. it can take quite a bit effort to come up with a good implementation, aka a good risc-v processor. it is like both Intel and AMD, and many other…[Read more]

#matlab hdl coder is solid for floating to fixed point conversion
Just did a IIR filter design. Initial design is in matlab. Hdl coder is used to convert design to verilog. Floating to fixed point conversion is also done in hdl coder. Design works on fpga!
