An Approximation of WPM performance in Slow Time-Selective Rayleigh Fading Channel

This is one of  several papers about digital modulation performance in frequency and time-selective fading channel I wrote before. Feedback and Question is welcomed.

The performance of differentially coherent and coherent
detection of wavelet packet modulation (WPM) in slow
time-selective Rayleigh fading channel with AWGN is analyzed
theoretically and closed-form BER approximations are derived. The
extension of our results to the general filter bank based system
and the fading processes with power spectrum other than land
mobile are discussed. Taking square-wave DMT as an example, our
simple closed-form BER approximations match the simulation results
very well for small f_{D}T_{0}. Finally the performance of a 6th
order Daubechies wavelet based WPM is studied and compared with
that of square-wave DMT.

  5. Hi P.Shih, good paper! With OFDM as a special case of WPM, the same method can be used to quickly calculate OFDM BER performance in slow selective fading channel, right?

      Hi balasubramanian, thanks for the positive feedback. Yes, OFDM BER can be calculated from the formula as well. When I get time I can put together a xls to do so.
